The Police és un grup musical anglès de pop-rock amb tocs de reggae. Es va formar el 1977 i es van separar el 1985. Liderats per Gordon Matthew Sumner, més conegut com a Sting,Andy Summers a la guitarra, i Stewart Copeland com a bateria, The Police va ser el conjunt britànic més reeixit dels 80 gràcies al seu impetuós pop-rock “new wave” enriquit per algunes dosis de reggae i un talent instrumental i compositiu sublim.
